Like I'm only an object for their pleasure?

No wonder

I am afraid in a female body

And the motives of men.

No wonder I feel ashamed

Wondering what other women really think.

I wonder how we got here?

Is it the suppression of sexuality

The oppression of truth

The fear of death (and aging)

So we only look at "beauty"

And youth?

I wonder why

Someone is idolized for abs

and their devotion to gym

And not for their heart, mind or soul

Or devotion to creating something that lasts?

I wonder how we

Got to this place of loving appearance

Over character?

Fakeness over authenticity

Temporary over legacy.

No wonder we reject

Find it hard to accept

The truth.

No wonder.
