Sinners

Soul Poetry by Aloha Jacqueline

February 11, 2024

Systemic

Patriarchal religion

Puritanical beliefs

Screwed up

Both men and women

And all the humans

In between

Shaming

Shunning

Suppressing

Our wildness

Our naturalness

Our wholeness

Splitting us

Into what we show the world

And what we hide

Calling us sinners

For what's inside

Until we choose

The path of individuation

And begin

The arduous journey

To set ourselves free

To courageously

Save ourselves

From the death of oppression

That we continue

To enact on ourselves

And each other

Until we face

Our deepest

Darkness

Our deepest

Fears.
