Layers and layers

Of protection

Of pain

Of fear

Yet we go on living

But simultaneously

Hiding

Hiding from memories

Hiding some of ourselves

Hiding parts of ourselves

Not always finding

the resolution

The repair

The connection we seek

Life is beautiful

But sometimes things hurt

Sometimes we break

But we always have the chance

To grow again

To choose again

To forgive ourselves

To let go of the inner hate

The inner shame

And to start all over

All over again.
